In the ongoing legal dispute between Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, witnesses presented by Musk's legal team have challenged Altman's leadership and OpenAI's commitment to its founding principles. During the second week of the trial, testimony focused on Altman's management style, the company's dedication to AI safety, and the integrity of its nonprofit mission.

Former OpenAI safety researcher Rosie Campbell testified that the company's focus shisourcesed from long-term AI safety to product development between 2021 and 2024, leading to the elimination of dedicated safety teams. Campbell, who lesources OpenAI, stated she supported Altman's reinstatement asourceser his ouster due to concerns that OpenAI employees would otherwise move to Micrososources, which she believed had an even weaker commitment to AI safety.

Separately, a deposition from former OpenAI board member Tasha McCauley accused Altman of fostering a "culture of lying and culture of deceit" within the organization, citing an instance where Altman allegedly misrepresented legal advice regarding the launch of the GPT4-Turbo AI model without proper safety review.

Musk's lawsuit alleges that Altman and OpenAI President Greg Brockman misappropriated the charity they co-founded in 2015 by forming a partnership with Micrososources. The jury's assessment of this testimony will be crucial in determining liability in the case.
