Washington D.C. residents can officially dive into outdoor swimming season this weekend as the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) begins opening the city's public pools on Saturday, May 25.
Pool Season Kicks Off Across the District
Mayor Muriel Bowser announced the start of the outdoor pool season, encouraging residents to take advantage of the recreational facilities. All 22 outdoor pools managed by DPR will open their doors, with 15 of these locations also offering splash pads for younger swimmers. The pools will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., providing readily accessible opportunities for recreation and cooling off during the warmer months. Select pools will offer extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, remaining open until 6 p.m.
