Commercial LPG prices fall as domestic rates hold

Oil marketing companies announced revised LPG cylinder prices effective July 1, 2026, cutting 19-kg commercial cylinder rates by up to ₹183.50 while leaving 14.2-kg domestic cooking gas prices unchanged. Reaction pending.

The reduction lowers fuel costs for restaurants, hotels, dhabas and other businesses that use commercial LPG, while households see no change in monthly cooking gas expenses.

Delhi and Lucknow get ₹183.50 cuts

Delhi recorded the largest listed reduction, with the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder now priced at ₹2,930 after a ₹183.50 cut from ₹3,113.50. Lucknow saw the same reduction, bringing the commercial cylinder price to ₹3,052.50 from ₹3,236.

In Kolkata, the commercial LPG price fell by ₹174 to ₹3,081.50 from ₹3,255.50. In Patna, the 19-kg commercial cylinder has been fixed at ₹3,227.

The cut follows a run of increases earlier in 2026. Data showed commercial LPG prices rose by ₹114.50 on March 1, around ₹200 on April 1, ₹993 on May 1 and between ₹42 and ₹53.50 on June 1.

Domestic LPG prices were kept unchanged: ₹942 in Delhi, ₹979.50 in Lucknow, ₹968 in Kolkata and ₹1,031.50 in Patna. For July 2026, the immediate test is whether cheaper commercial LPG eases operating costs without spilling into lower menu prices or broader food-service inflation.
