A witness in the Alihan Kuriş probe said 100 billion lira was only the visible part of the group's assets, a claim that prompted renewed scrutiny of alleged overseas transfers.
Officials said the person questioned, identified in filings as R.Ş., told investigators collections of fitre, zekat and kurban were taken without receipts and channelled abroad.
The witness described the flows as disguised charitable giving and said they were moved using methods the witness associated with tactics employed by FETÖ, officials said.

Officials said the testimony outlines a network of unrecorded donations and transfers that, if proved, could expand the scope of the investigation and trigger cross-border financial checks.
Officials added that there is no public verification yet for the witness's estimate of asset size and that law enforcement has not detailed asset seizures or formal charges.
If prosecutors pursue charges, preliminary hearings could begin by August 25, 2026, and officials said they will disclose updates on filings or detentions as the case develops.
