Turkey's Mobile Gaming Sector Surpasses $2.76 Billion Revenue

Rapid Expansion in Digital Entertainment

The mobile gaming industry in Turkey has demonstrated significant momentum, with in-app purchase revenues climbing past the $2.76 billion threshold in 2025. This performance reflects a substantial surge compared to the $504 million recorded in 2020, representing a growth rate of approximately 450% within a six-year timeframe.

Global Market Presence and Domestic Trends

As a result of this rapid scaling, the share of global mobile gaming revenue attributed to Turkish developers has expanded from 1% to 5%. Domestically, the market saw a 6% revenue increase last year, reaching $347 million, although total download volume experienced a 4% decline to 1.8 billion units.

Concentration in Puzzle Gaming

Data indicates that puzzle-based titles account for 96.9% of the total revenue generated by local developers, highlighting a strong specialization within this specific genre. This focus is mirrored in the nation's startup ecosystem, where three of the eight companies valued over $1 billion—known as "Turcorns"—operate within the gaming space.

Key Industry Players

Prominent firms such as Peak Games, Dream Games, and Loom Games have achieved significant valuations. Furthermore, seven additional gaming startups are currently identified as potential candidates for "Turcorn" status among a broader list of 43 emerging companies. Notable titles like Royal Match and Royal Kingdom have collectively generated over $5.2 billion, while Toy Blast and Toon Blast have contributed more than $3.4 billion to the sector's total earnings.

Economic Contributions and Strategic Risks

The export-oriented nature of this industry provides a steady stream of foreign currency, supporting broader macroeconomic stability. However, the sector faces the inherent challenge of constant adaptation, as global gaming trends shift rapidly and competition intensifies. A heavy reliance on a single genre could present a vulnerability if consumer preferences move away from puzzle mechanics.
