Tesla's Chinese-made EV sales rise 39.4% in May

BEIJING, June 2 () - Tesla's (TSLA.O), opens new tab Chinese-made electric vehicle ​sales rose 39.4% from ‌a year earlier, extending six months of ​consecutive growth ​as the company held its ⁠ground in ​the face of intensifying ​competition from Chinese rivals.

Deliveries of Model 3 and ​Model Y vehicles ​rolled out of its Shanghai ‌plant, ⁠including units exported to Europe and other markets, hit ​85,982 ​units, ⁠up 8.2% from April, data ​from China Passenger ​Car ⁠Association showed on Tuesday.
