Campbell Back in Baltimore Purple

Calais Campbell Returns to Ravens Veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell has rejoined the Baltimore Ravens on a one-year deal, marking his return to the team for the 2024-2025 NFL season. The agreement was finalized on Thursday, bringing the six-time Pro Bowl player back to Baltimore where he previously played from 2020 to 2022.

Campbell, who will turn 40 on September 1, is expected to address depth concerns on the Ravens' interior defensive line. The team's defensive line roster was thin post-draft, with only Travis Jones, John Jenkins, and CJ Okoye having played over 100 snaps last season among currently available linemen, excluding Nnamdi Madubuike who is recovering from neck surgery.

During his previous tenure with the Ravens, Campbell recorded 11 sacks and earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2020. In the 2023 season with the Miami Dolphins, he played all 17 games, registering 6.5 sacks, two passes defended, 43 tackles (nine for loss), and 16 quarterback hits. His signing will not impact the Ravens' compensatory pick formula for the 2027 draft, where they are projected to receive four compensatory picks.
