Rivian R2 Performance Model Priced
Rivian's R2 Performance electric SUV will launch in spring 2026 at $59,485, with the $45,000 base model delayed until late 2027.

Rivian announced on March 12, 2026, at SXSW, that the initial version of its R2 electric SUV, the dual-motor Performance trim, will start at $59,485, including a $1,495 destination charge. This model is projected to reach customers starting in spring 2026. The base R2 model, initially advertised at $45,000, is not expected to be released until late 2027.
The R2 Performance trim features 656 horsepower, 609 lb-ft of torque, a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds, and an EPA-estimated range of 330 miles. Standard features include a premium interior, a 975-Watt Premium Audio system, and 21-inch wheels. The Launch Package for the R2 Performance also includes a lifetime subscription to the Autonomy Plus package, offering hands-free driving capabilities.
