Man Charged in Bailiff Murder

A 49-year-old man, Robert Davies, has been charged with murder, possession of an offensive weapon, and affray following the death of court bailiff Jeff Blair, 55, in Shildon, County Durham, United Kingdom. Blair died in hospital after sustaining serious injuries during an attack while on duty on Tuesday. Davies has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Peterlee magistrates court on Friday.
Blair, a former Durham Constabulary police officer for 22 years, had transitioned to a bailiff role after retiring in 2017.
