Macao Artist Au Chon Hin Opens Interactive Amagao Gallery Show

Macao designer Au Chon Hin opened an exhibition at Amagao Gallery within Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau, featuring over 50 two- and three-dimensional works. Titled “Roam In Play And We Can Fly,” the collection explores themes of play, design, and imagination through interactive installations and vibrant art pieces.

Artist Explores Childhood Curiosity

The exhibition, running until October 18, draws inspiration from childhood experiences of drawing, building, and playing. Au employs bold colors, geometric forms, and playful objects to create an open-ended environment, encouraging families and children to interact with shapes and blocks of various sizes. The installations invite both engagement and photography.

The Cultural Development Fund provided financial support for the exhibition. Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau, Amagao Gallery, and the 1844 Macau Photography Art Space Association jointly present the show. The collection includes paintings and prints on canvas, acrylic, and metal, alongside sculptures and interactive elements.

Rutger Verschuren, area president for Macau and Hengqin at Artyzen Hospitality Group and general manager of Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau, emphasized the hotel's view of art as a connection point with the city and its creative community. Au, founder and creative director of Untitled Macao, has received international recognition for his work in brand identity, visual communication, exhibition curation, and spatial design from platforms like NYC ADC, D&AD, and Tokyo TDC.

Beyond the gallery space, Café Bela Vista at Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau offers an afternoon tea set inspired by Au’s works. This initiative extends the exhibition’s themes into the hotel’s food and dining experience, creating a multi-sensory engagement for visitors.
