Apple launches iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max

Apple launched the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, a product update analysts said could intensify the upgrade cycle and influence mega-cap equities.

Apple said both models run on the 2nm A20 Pro chip, with a six-core CPU, seven-core GPU and dual 16-core Neural Engines; the company said the GPU is up to 40% faster than the A19 Pro and memory bandwidth is 50% higher. It added a redesigned vapor chamber the company said triples surface area to raise sustained performance by up to 40%.

The company said the N1 wireless chip brings Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread, while a new C2 modem supports mmWave and uses about 15% less energy. Battery life, the company said, reaches up to 36 hours on the Pro and 45 hours on the Pro Max, with a 0–50% charge in roughly 15 minutes wired or 30 minutes wirelessly.

Apple said camera upgrades include a 48MP Fusion main sensor with a variable aperture that shifts between ƒ/1.48 and ƒ/4 and new manual pro controls; video features, the company said, add post-capture cinematic effects at up to 60fps. The company also said devices use 40% recycled materials and that manufacturing relies on 50% renewable energy.

Analysts said the combined chip, modem and camera improvements could prompt earlier handset replacements and lift component orders, a dynamic that would support mega-cap tech equities and parts suppliers. Investors will watch pre-order volumes on September 12, 2026, and initial sales data from India on September 18, 2026, for an early read on demand.

The company set US prices at $1,199 for the iPhone 18 Pro and $1,299 for the Pro Max; it said those figures equate to about ₹1.14 lakh and ₹1.24 lakh before taxes. Pre-orders begin on September 12, 2026, with sales in India starting September 18, 2026.
